Student Spotlight

"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice." Philippians 4:4
Ed Johnson, a TTU baseball player, gave his teammates, coaches, and family a reason to rejoice. On September 30, Ed was baptized on TTU's baseball field by one of his own teammates. Of all the people there, it definitely hit home to Coach Smith, TTU's head baseball coach.

"I struggle for the right words to describe my feelings as a coach after witnessing the baptism of Ed by a fellow teammate. What a truly unforgettable moment of an eternal decision. So blessed by his desire to take a stand for Christ in the presence of his teammates! All I can say is Amen!" -Steve Smith, TTU Head Baseball Coach

Team Spotlight

The Cookeville Volleyball team had an awesome season. They made it to the State Volleyball Tournament for the 3rd year in a row and placed 5th. Not only are they having great success on the court, but Character Coach, Janet Bowling has been working with them since July and has lead them not only in growing as a team, but as individuals as well.

"All I can say is WOW, God is so good. I’m Janet Bowling and this year I have had the privilege and honor to be the character coach for the Cookeville High School volleyball team. These girls are amazing. I was able to share with them about the goodness of God and tell them how much they are loved and adored by Him. The most wonderful part about being with these girls is they taught me what a true team really looks like. A team that will stand together in good and bad. To say I love these girls and the coaches is an understatement. The bond Coach Cherry and I formed together is a blessing in and of itself. I’m so thankful God choose me to be the one to get to hang out with them and love them because it was so rewarding. I will always have these special young ladies as part of my life and I pray to always be part of theirs."
