Jeff Lacy - Area Director
Jeff began with FCA in February of 2016. He grew up in Sparta, Tennessee, and graduated from White County High School, where he played football, basketball, and baseball. He went on to play one year of football at Vanderbilt University, before he came back to graduate from Tennessee Tech. He became reacquainted with FCA at a men's adult FCA huddle and joined the Murfreesboro FCA board in 1999 and served there until moving back to the area to join the FCA staff in the Upper Cumberland. He and wife, Karen, have been married since 1987 and have one daughter, Megan, who is on staff at Emorywood Baptist Church in High Point, North Carolina.
Noel Cherry - Area Representative (Part-Time)
Noel grew up on a farm near Celina,Tennessee, and attended Celina High School. He played football at Celina High School, as well as one year at MTSU. He received his B.S. in 1965 and his M.A. in 1969, both from MTSU. He coached football, boys’ and girls’ basketball for 36 years, and was associated with FCA as a coach for 23 years. Noel gave his life to Christ on December 5, 1976. He was the Area Director of FCA from September, 2001 to February, 2016, overseeing FCA huddles (school clubs) in 12 counties in the Upper Cumberland Area of Tennessee. Now he serves as a part-time area representative doing the part of the job he loves, which is spending time with coaches and students. He is married to Vickie and they have two children and six grandchildren.
Sheri Pharris - Area Representative (Full-Time)
Sheri has been on staff with FCA since 2004. She gives direction to the Character Coach program throughout our area. Her FCA involvement began when she was a student-athlete during her middle and high school years in her hometown of Elizabethton, TN. Sheri ran cross country, track, played basketball, softball, and volleyball. Her favorite sport became volleyball which she played for 3 years for the Elizabethton Lady Cyclones. She is married to her best friend, Adam Pharris of Cookeville, TN. They have been married since August 30, 2008. Adam was also involved in FCA through high school and college. They have one son, Preston, and two daughters, Millie and Betsy.
Deana Persson - Staff Assistant
Deana began working as a part-time staff assistant with FCA in 2004. She grew up in Dayton, Ohio, and after graduation from West Carrollton Senior High, attended Lipscomb University where she received her B.S. degree in 1974. Deana is involved in leadership with Community Bible Study and is an active member of Putnam County Right to Life. She is married to Lance, and they have one son, Tyler, who is married to Katie. Tyler is a graduate of Tennessee Tech University and currently works for ARI.
